In this periodic report submitted by Gabon under Article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, Gabonese authorities reply to the recommendations previously addressed to them by the Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

1. The situation of civil society organisations in China and restrictions on their activities;
2. The development of the legal profession in China and challenges to its independence; and
3. Reprisals against defenders for engagement with the UN.

The present report provides an overview of the current working methods of eight of the ten human rights Treaty Bodies (CERD; CESCR; CCPR; CEDAW; CAT; CRC; CMW; CRPD). The report is confined to the working methods of the Treaty Bodies with respect to the reporting process.
